Nursery Stock FAQs
Nursery Stock Movement FAQs for Production Nurseries
Q: What does the new ACP regional quarantine mean for the transportation of nursery stock?
A: Revised in January 2018, the ACP regional quarantine for nursery stock movement established three regional quarantine zones. The regional quarantine permits production nurseries to move ACP host nursery stock within its regional quarantine zone if it’s treated and tagged according to the regulation and compliance agreement. For details on movement and sale of ACP host material between quarantines, visit CDFA’s website.
Q: What should a production nursery do to be in compliance with the new ACP regional quarantine for nursery stock movement?
A: Production nurseries with ACP host material should have received a mailing from CDFA prior to March 2018 that included a new compliance agreement. All establishments involved in producing, upsizing or shipping ACP host nursery stock must fill out this compliance agreement. A representative of your establishment must physically take a printed copy of the completed and signed documents to a local CDFA office. Production nurseries will also need new nursery stock tree tags to be in compliance with the new quarantine. When visiting the CDFA office, the total number of your establishment’s current inventory of host nursery stock must be presented with the compliance agreement to obtain new nursery stock tree tags.
Q: When will my current compliance agreement be cancelled and invalid?
A: Your current compliance agreement will be cancelled and invalid as of March 1, 2018. You must follow the steps outlined above to obtain a new and approved compliance agreement prior to March 1.
Q: Where and when can I visit a CDFA office to submit my organization’s compliance agreement?
A: The following CDFA offices are able to validate your new compliance agreement and provide you with new nursery stock tree tags.
