Ventura County ACP-HLB Task Force Fall Workshop – Oct. 29

The Ventura County ACP-HLB Task Force invites local citrus industry members to attend an informational workshop on Tuesday, Oct. 29, for updates on Asian citrus psyllid (ACP) area-wide treatments; a report on the use of canines to scout commercial groves; Huanglongbing (HLB) detections; strategies for disease prevention and more. Attendance is free, but advance registration is required.

9:45 a.m. – Managing ACP and HLB in Southern California commercial groves: Beth Grafton-Cardwell, IPM Specialist and Research Entomologist, University of California-Riverside, and Director of Lindcove Research and Extension Center

10:25 a.m. – Use of canines as an early detection technique: Neil McRoberts, western regional director, National Plant Diagnostic Network, and associate professor of plant pathology, UC Davis; John Krist, CEO, Farm Bureau of Ventura County

11 a.m. – Survey of industry perceptions about HLB: Beth Grafton-Cardwell, UC Riverside; Sara Garcia Figuera, PhD candidate, Department of Plant Pathology, UC Davis
