Recently, the California Department of Food and Agriculture’s Citrus Pest and Disease Prevention Division (CPDPD) made updates to the requirements for moving bulk citrus fruit, allowing citrus fruit to be moved from any Asian citrus psyllid (ACP) quarantine zone to a Huanglongbing (HLB) quarantine area for packing or processing without a mitigation.
Although mitigation is not required in these scenarios, it is still required for growers to submit an ACP-Free Declaration Form to the applicable county agricultural commissioner’s (CAC) office in advance of fruit movement.
The ACP-Free Declaration Form has been updated to include a new section that will specify this movement type, as seen below:
Please note, safeguarding all fruit in transit is still required for all bulk citrus ACP/HLB quarantine movements, and trucks must be fully tarped, or the vehicle must be fully enclosed. Additionally, all other quarantine requirements, such as those for invasive fruit fly quarantines, still apply.
