Citrus Meeting: Are You Prepared If HLB Is Found in Ventura County? – March 15

Coast

Citrus growers and industry members in Ventura County are invited to attend a virtual meeting on Monday, March 15 (9 – 11 a.m.) to help prepare for regulatory requirements that may be expected of you in the event that Huanglongbing (HLB) is detected nearby.  Representatives from the California Department of Food and Agriculture (CDFA) and the County Agricultural Commissioner’s office will be presenting on HLB regulatory protocols and mitigations for moving bulk citrus when there is a HLB quarantine. This is also an opportunity to ask questions of the regulators!

Agenda (Tentative)

  • Introduction & Overview (ACP/HLB Grower Liaisons)
  • Ventura County Update (David Wirta, Ventura County Deputy Agricultural Commissioner)
  • What Happens When HLB is Confirmed? (Michael Soltero & Brianna Russell, CDFA)
    • CDFA HLB Action Plan
    • HLB Quarantine
    • Moving Bulk Citrus
    • Grate Cleaning

There is no cost to attend the Zoom meeting, but registration is required.  A confirmation email and link to join the Zoom meeting will be provided following registration.
